Third tranche under the 2026 financing framework supports the acquisition of 20 intercity passenger coaches for public rail services in Bulgaria 

EUROFIMA has disbursed a third tranche of EUR 5 million to BDZ Passengers EOOD (BDZ) under the financing framework agreed in April 2026.

The financing, disbursed on 1 October 2026, supports the acquisition of 20 second-hand intercity passenger coaches previously operated in Germany. The coaches will be deployed in public passenger rail services in Bulgaria.

The transaction marks the continued implementation of EUROFIMA’s financing programme with BDZ, supporting investment in rolling stock to enhance passenger services and connectivity in Bulgaria.

By financing the acquisition of second-hand rolling stock, EUROFIMA supports the continued use of existing railway assets while enabling operators to strengthen their passenger transport offering.
