EUROFIMA is pleased to announce the disbursement of EUR 280 million (10 years) to its Spanish shareholder RENFE on Decembre 23rd 2024; the loan is going to be used to refinance 152 EMUs Class 447, originally financed in 2020, and to finance additional 30 EMU of the same class.

The 182 Electrical Multiple Units are existing 3-cars trains from CAF and Siemens, that have been completely refurbished and upgraded, to improve accessibility (low floor access, spaces for wheelchairs, universal toilets) to increase comfort (completely new interiors) and to enhance customers experience (modern Passenger Information System installation). They are utilized to meet the growing rail traffic demand in the suburban’s areas of the Spanish main cities, in the typical commuting services delivered by Renfe Cercanias.

This deal reaffirms the commitment of EUROFIMA to support the development of the public rail services in Europe and to promote more sustainable and greener means of transportation.
